Shipton by Beningbrough playground is a fantastic facility for children of all ages with a special fenced area for younger children. It is located behind the Community Centre at the north end of Main Street. There is a zip line, and younger children's roundabout and lots of other fun equipment! The playing green behind the playground is perfect for football and other games, and there is a basketball hoop to practice shots (bring your own ball). There are picnic tables and benches available.
The facility is maintained by the Parish Council. Councillors help ensure it is kept safe day to day, while repairs are carried out by professional bodies. Fundraising is undertaken to help finance the maintenance (including via the 100 Club, details of which are on the separate 100 Club page).
If any members of the public would be interested in getting involved in securing the future of the playground please contact the Parish Council - we would welcome support from users!
We are currently looking into various improvements including replacing and adding to existing equipment - please let us know what you think!
