Shipton Community Centre

The Community Centre has always been very active with something happening most days and we are starting to welcome back our regular users.

We currently have the following clubs and organisations using the centre on a regular basis

  • Kaminari Taiko drumming (see below)
  • Dog Training

Kaminari UK Taiko

Kaminari UK Taiko is a Japanese-style drumming group, who have been playing and performing together since 2009. Taiko drumming is an energetic and dynamic form of drumming originating in Japan, combining rhythm and movement to produce a visual, fun and absorbing performance.

Kaminari UK Taiko Drummers are proud to call Shipton their base, with regular practice in the Community Centre. We want to impart our love of this physical, fun (and addictive!) art form to the

wider community, so members of the group teach regular lessons and workshops for players of all levels of Taiko experience, also in Shipton,
